Established more than nine years ago, Frozen Solid is Europe's longest established and most experienced Deep Cryogenic Treatment Specialist. Since our inception we have offered our customers Europe’s most advanced Deep Cryogenic processing centre founded on a performance engineering background, and our aim is to assist each and every engineer and end user to get the very best from their components, both in terms of design and application.

Frozen Solid liases with performance and production engineers and research institutes around the world on a daily basis. Current projects with Cambridge and Newcastle University are developing Cryogenics on the world stage. Ongoing dialogue in research sees PhD links established and maintained to ensure our capabilities are documented and based on solid empirical fact. We give each of our customers a personal and bespoke service to optimise their engineering requirements, drawing on a knowledge base second to none in the industry.

We own and operate the most comprehensive Deep Cryogenic Treatment facility in Europe including three distinct levels of advanced cooling apparatus, a combination of liquid Nitrogen and Helium processing capability in tandem with multi stage in house tempering systems means we cover the broadest commercial Cryo temperature range available to the market. Deep Cryogenic Treatment, also known as Deep Cryogenic Tempering, or Cryo Treating, is a one-time permanent process. that toughens most ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Examples would be metals, metallic alloys, carbides, aluminium, bronze and brass amongst many others. Unlike a surface treatment, Deep Cryogenic Treatment toughens the material right through to the core. In addition to increased wear, impact and fatigue resistance, materials are relieved of most residual stresses. Aluminium with its high surface residual stress responds incredibly well to the process becoming very dimensionally stable, and standing up to the most demanding machining.
